It’s often seen that summits on education, skills and employability are being organized in tier 1 cities however this was the first time that this type of Summit was organized in Educational Institution and that too not in the main stream city but in the small town like Bathinda, Punjab. The very fact that these types of summits have now come out from the main stream cities to the remotest parts of the country is a sign that we have come out from mere policy making & discussions to the execution in real sense and eradication of the major threat of the country i.e Unemployment.
The Chief Guest of Global summit Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, Honourable Chief Minister of Punjab congratulated Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, Baba Farid Group of Institutions, Bathinda on his Success and exceptional achievements. Mr. Badal said that, “I believe no other institution in Punjab can perform as well as BFGI is performing. I feel highly honoured to be the part of this Global Summit. I prefer attending the events wherein people make huge efforts for the development of not only education sector but of whole country. It’s commendable that BFGI has prepared its ‘Unique Industry Academia Interface Model’ to eradicate the problem of unemployment which will surely reduce the problem of drug addiction of our country  which people get indulged into due to the stress of being unemployed.” He committed to acknowledge and honour Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal on coming Independence Day for all his great efforts he is making to develop education sector. Mr. Badal was extremely happy with the arrangements of the institution as he praised the management, infrastructure and the efforts of BFGI. Mr Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, BFGI at the summit said that, “This summit is the result of enormous collective efforts of dignitaries and experts from Industry, Academia, Industrial Associations and Government bodies. I am happy to reveal that we have successfully signed MOU’s with 25 companies and have a target of signing 100 MOU’s in 2015.” It’s great that more than 30 International & National panellists and more than 150 delegates with expertise became the part of Global Summit and shared their valuable opinions. Panellists from MHRD, UGC, AICTE, DST, CSIR, NSDA, NSDC, Sector Skill Councils, various renowned industries and government bodies also attended the Global summit. During this Global Summit Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab also laid the foundation stone of India’s First ever In-house Skill Development Centre which will be established at BFGI campus in association with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) with the initial cost of Rs. 20 crores. BFGI believe in the effective combination of Corporate Support and Student participation that has made this International Festival a success. Inspired by this notion ofIndustry-Academia collaboration BFGI organized a ‘BIZ Show’ during “Vibgyor-15” wherein all the renowned Multinational Companies exhibited their upcoming products / innovations as the display for the audiences. BFGI invited all the big Corporate giants who showcased their products in this International Event for the public so, that the students of region should be acquitted with the recent developments in the field of modern technology. Massive participation of Multinational Companies was made to the Biz Show. As we all are aware of this fact that Agriculture Industry is the backbone of Indian economy, BFGI considering it as the moral responsibility in order to cater the intent of the farmers of the region has also organized an “AGRI EXPO” at Vibgyor15. It was another major attraction in which Agricultural machines with latest technology were displayed and Agriculturists & Farmers were able to have a look upon all the Hi-Tech agricultural machineries under one roof.
